Countries

Profiles of delivery geographies we know from the inside. There is no perfect location for every operation; it's a mix, and these are three we have walked, staffed, and managed.

The industry

The Philippines is the heavyweight of global customer experience delivery. The IT-BPM sector closed 2025 with export revenues above 40 billion dollars and roughly 1.9 million Filipinos employed, per industry association IBPAP, growing faster than the global market. Behind the numbers sits the reason clients stay: a large, college-educated, English-proficient workforce with a genuine service culture and a management bench developed over three decades of running the world's hardest programs. Manila and Makati anchor the industry, and strong delivery has spread to Cebu, Clark, Davao, and beyond. We managed operations here as Country Manager; our view of the labor market comes from hiring in it, not reading about it.

Visiting

The Philippines is an easy country to love. The hospitality is real, English is spoken everywhere, and Makati and Bonifacio Global City offer dining and hotels that match any business capital in Asia. When the work is done, some of the finest islands on earth are a short flight away: the limestone lagoons of El Nido, the white sand of Boracay, and over seven thousand other reasons to stay a few extra days.

Belize

The industry

Belize is the quiet achiever of nearshore delivery, and the only country in Central America where English is the official language, the language of schools, courts, and media. The BPO sector employs roughly 16,000 to 18,000 people across more than 15 operators, making it one of the country's largest private employers, with industry salaries around 150 million dollars a year. The pitch is practical: native English, US Central time zone year-round, strong cultural alignment with American consumers, and all-in agent economics well below US onshore rates. For small and mid-sized programs that want nearshore proximity without a language tradeoff, Belize deserves a hard look.

Visiting

Client visits here do not need a hardship allowance. Belize sits on the second largest barrier reef in the world; the flight in often passes over the Great Blue Hole, and the cayes, Caye Caulker and Ambergris among them, are a water taxi away from the mainland. Two hours from US hub airports, no language barrier, and some of the best diving and fishing in the hemisphere.

Honduras

The industry

Honduras has built a serious bilingual delivery sector, with industry estimates of 20,000 to 30,000 BPO jobs and growth around eight percent a year. San Pedro Sula is the hub: the country's largest concentration of bilingual talent and purpose-built infrastructure led by Altia Business Park, a campus designed specifically for technology and BPO operations, with a sister campus in Tegucigalpa. The workforce is young, the English programs are expanding through national initiatives aimed at urban youth, and the US Central time zone makes real-time support straightforward. Costs sit meaningfully below US onshore while the accent and cultural fit serve North American customers well.

Visiting

The Bay Islands alone justify the trip. Roatán's West Bay is one of the Caribbean's best beaches, sitting on the same Mesoamerican reef as Belize, with world-class diving at a fraction of the usual cost. On the mainland, the Mayan ruins at Copán reward a day trip, and San Pedro Sula's business district is modern, compact, and an easy nonstop flight from Houston, Miami, or Dallas.
